Support for your group relating to Governance is available. This could include defining the values and missions for your group, support with writing a governing document (often referred to as a constitution) or help deciding on the best legal form for your organisation to take.
Support with Governance could guide you through effective policy and procedure development (including employment law policies) and implementation, often providing you with model documents to build your policies from, ensuring the Governance structure of your organisation is strong enough to give you effective strategic direction addressing equality and diversity.
When setting up groups can opt to take different legal forms depending on their activities and the purpose of their work. Different options include: Charitiy, Community Interest Company (CIC) or Industrial and Provident Society (IPS).
For any group with a Trustee Board help is available if you have any issues regarding your Trustee Board from recruitment and retention to roles and responsibilities.
